Established over 50 years ago, Zeta Farmaceutici is today the second Italian company in the sales of pharmaceutical products including, cosmetics, dietetic and food products. Zeta Farmaceutici distribution centers deal with thousands of products that need to be handled efficiently and accurately.

RCP ( the radio frequency supplier for Zeta Farmaceutici) and Itworks (the vo-ce ® software developer) have collaborated to implement and customize vo-ce ® into the existing WMS. The most welcome benefit of vo-ce ® in the warehouse is its ability to introduce a high degree of flexibility into the picking process. By using the Datalogic Jet ™ mobile computer with a dual mode picking system (radiofrequency and voice) the solution minimizes errors and speeds up the order completion and delivery.
The operator sets the Datalogic Jet ™ to his belt, and receives voice commands from the warehouse management system and gives feedbacks to the system. Workers can move trough the warehouse without cumbersome equipment that slow them down or distract them.

vo-ce ® uses speech recognition ASR and synthesis technology TTS from Nuance, the leading provider of speech and imaging solutions.

Results:
The operators are enthusiastic and get used to vo-ce ® very quickly. They improved their picking performance over 25% in the finished products, and process quality reduced the error margin to almost zero.

Less time spent investigating stock discrepancies and better warehouse management improve the services to all 7000 pharmacies all over Italy.
