vo-ce at CeMAT 2008, 27- 31 May in Hannover, Germany

Itworks will exhibit vo-ce®, its voice-directed warehouse picking solution, from May 27 to May 31, 2008 at booth E56/2 in Hall 27 at CeMAT 2008, the world’s leading fair for intralogistics.

With the vo-ce solution, no additional middleware is required for voice picking with wireless devices. vo-CE enables Microsoft CE.Net Wi-Fi devices to be easily and quickly equipped with ASR (automatic speech recognition) and TTS (text to speech) engines from Nuance for direct integration with WMS or ERP solutions. Itworks will also release vo-CE software 2.0 in DLL version for full integration with both standard and custom WMS solutions. vo-CE software works with Windows CE.Net 4.2 or higher and Windows Mobile 2003 or higher.

The software has been installed in Italy as well as abroad, on more than one thousand working devices, in industrial markets like pharmaceutical, retail, fashion, food, and manufacturing. The vo-ce application is typically used for high volume picking, and the simplicity of the software and the training make it easier to adapt the new picking procedures in your warehouse, which will give you the edge over your competition.

An investment in a vo-ce solution has a payback of 12 to 15 months with benefits of up to a 20 to 25% increase in production performance (number of picks per hour). In addition, errors in picking can be reduced by 50 to 60% because operators work with microphone headsets and have their eyes and hands free from paper lists and cumbersome devices.

vo-ce is available in 10 different languages. It is a “speaker dependent” and “speaker independent” software with high performance recognition engines for non-native language users. This optimizes time and efforts on user training and also enables the creation of customized operator profiles.
